Raised in Queens, NY, Dr. Munarov graduated as Summa Cum Laude from City University of New York Hunter College in 2008 with a degree in Biochemistry.  Immediately after his undergraduate studies, he attended Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine and received a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 2012.  

 

In 2013, Dr. Munarov completed a one year General Practice Residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens, NY and it was at this point that he realized he had a special interest in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  He then went on to complete a four year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY.

 

After practicing on Long Island for 2 years, Dr. Munarov was given the great opportunity to take over Dr. Michael C. Miller’s practice.  Having been trained by Dr. Miller and having similar methodology and approach to patient care and treatment as Dr. Miller, Dr. Munarov didn’t think twice about this great opportunity and gladly accepted the offer. 

 

Dr. Munarov is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Becoming a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon is a rigorous process that is voluntary.  The candidate first has to pass a written exam to show didactic knowledge of the specialty.  After the written exam is passed, the candidate then has to take an oral certifying examination led by most prestigious oral surgeons in the United States.  Certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons are expected to maintain current standards, through ongoing continuing education that keep the doctor committed to lifelong learning and practice in a safe and up-to-date manner.

 

Dr. Munarov practices all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery with a special interest in dental implants, bone grafting, maxillofacial trauma, and benign maxillofacial pathology.

Dr. Munarov believes in giving back and works closely with dental residents from New York Medical College and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residents at Westchester Medical Center, a level one trauma hospital.

Dr. Munarov is on staff at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY and Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, NY.
